What a pleasure to work with someone who is a master of their craft, albeit a new craft. Our brief to him was to capture the essence of our Gypsy Haven. Not only the Gypsy Wagons and the Gypsy Guesthouse rooms, but the whole Gypsy Glamping Experience – THE GYPSY LIFE!
We could not have envisioned it to have been captured in a more magical way.
Looking at the images that he has captured, it is hard to believe that it is only recently that he decided to go public with his photography. Zane has the uncanny knack to capture the emotion of a scene. He has found means to freeze all beauty, emotions, and character, into a single shot.
Standing at the photo shoot we were unable to see what he was seeing through his lens. He would change his position, change the angle, change the lens. It the light was not correct, we would wait until it was perfect. He has immense patience to wait and capture the perfect shot. He would stand in weird palaces, lie on the floor or hang from a tree to get the angle he needed.
He certainly has an eye for detail. Zane Frost has the ability to create an incredible image from a scene. The scene is not the image. This is his magic!
That and his passion and energy for a photography. He is not scared to move out of his comfort zone. He is not wild about photographing people, yet he still captured our gypsy models effortlessly, keeping them relaxed and natural. His quiet confidence put us all at ease. His excitement about our project is evident.
He is not afraid to be out in the elements to capture that perfect shot of the stars at 2am in minus degree temperatures, or lie in the mud to capture a cyclist in motion as he comes around the corner. Setting his camera to blur the wheels for motion, but crystal clear clarity on the rest of the photo. Again the emotion of the rider is evident. These skills have already earned him contracts for various sporting events.
Having spent 15 years working in 5 countries, as an …..?? .. has given him a unique perspective on life! He demands the highest standards of professionalism of himself. He wants to capture images that he sees in his head, onto film, just like a post card, for all to enjoy for a life time! He has a head for business. Contracts in place. Licencing and terms of use are clarified. All his work is protected and has a copy write.
Zane is now living in Clarens and his company is Zane Frost Photography.
Next time you are wandering around Clarens keep an eye open for him. If there is an event you will spot him quietly walking around with camera in hand, looking for the perfect scene. He greets warmly and brings a smile to all he talks to. How will spot him otherwise? … a man walking with a purpose. With a jaunty step. A man on a mission to see his next client. A man who loves what he does! A man is who is able to capture the beauty of our world.
